Cataract 2.2
Cataract 2.2 is an advanced surgery technique with a smaller incision size of 2.2mm compared to previously 3.0mm incision. The older technique of ECCE where the lens was removed manually was about 10mm.

At VISTA, we have discontinued the ECCE technique since 2002 and are gradually phasing out the Standard 3.0 technique. We anticipate within the next 12 months, Cataract 2.2 will be performed in more than 50% of the Cataract surgery.

The benefits of Cataract 2.2
  1. Less post operative pain after surgery
  2. Less infection risk that may lead to blindness
  3. Faster healing process with many resuming normal activities the next day
  4. Better visual results with less risk of induced astigmatism
  5. Less leakage risk that may lead to infection and blindness
