If you have moderate to high myopia and are unsuitable for other form of cornea refractive surgery, Lens Implan surgery may improve your natural distance vision without the use of glasses or contact lens.

What is Lens Implan?
Lens Implan is also commonly known as Phakic Implantable Contact Lens or Phakic ICL. An artificial lens is surgically placed inside your eye. Your natural lens is not removed during the surgery but the Phakic ICL is inserted in addition to your natural lens.

TREATMENT
Prior to surgery, drops are placed in the eye to reduce pupil size. An instrument is attached to hold open the eyelids during the procedure, and a local anesthetic is given to numb the eye's surface. An incision then is made into the eye. The phakic ICL is inserted and attached to the colored

portion of the eye (iris). Tiny, dissolvable stitches are used to close the wound. An eye shield will need to be worn for a short time following the procedure, which lasts about 15-30 minutes.

The folded phakic ICL is inserted just behind the eye's iris and in front of the natural lens. The artificial lens then opens up to its full width following implantation, which requires no sutures. Once inserted during about a six-minute procedure, the phakic ICL because of its location behind the iris cannot be seen except during eye examinations.

Technology
VISTA is first in Malaysia and Singapore to offer the VISIAN Implantable Contact Lens (‘ICL’) surgery since 2005, an exciting technological advancement that allows a great number of Malaysian suffering from high shortsighted and with thin cornea to enjoy clear vision without glasses or contact lenses.

The Visian is the first phakic ICL of its kind to receive FDA approval for use in the United States. It is based on many

years of research and development in adapting the proven technology of the IOL (intraocular lens) used for cataract surgery. The IOL cataract procedure is familiar to ophthalmologists and is performed safely on millions of patients each year. While the technology is similar, the Visian ICL procedure differs from cataract surgery as the natural lens is not removed from the eye. Instead, the Visian ICL is placed in front of the natural lens.
