VISTA is first in Malaysia and Singapore to offer the STAAR Visian ICLTM (Implantable Contact Lens) for the Lens Implan procedure since 2005.

STAAR Visian is the first phakic ICL of its kind to receive FDA approval for use in the United States. It is based on many years of research and development in adapting the proven technology of the IOL (intraocular lens) used for cataract surgery. The IOL cataract procedure is familiar to ophthalmologists and is performed safely on millions of patients each year. While the technology is similar, the STAAR Visian ICLTM procedure differs from cataract surgery as the natural lens is not removed from the eye. Instead, the STAAR Visian ICLTM is placed in front of the natural lens.

The STAAR Visian ICLTM is made from Collamer®, a collagen co-polymer, specially designed for biocompatibility by STAAR® Surgical. The STAAR Visian ICLTM is foldable, allowing for insertion through a very small incision. It is placed behind the iris and works with the existing natural lens to correct vision.
